AMRITA JEWELLERY

Amrita lives in Zagreb, capital of Croatia. She draws inspiration from both Zagreb and Pula, small coastal town, where she was born, and usually spends there her summer holidays.

Amrita started to design jewelry 5 years ago, when she was still at the university. From the beginning she liked natural materials, mostly wood and rope..all types of wooden beads and sometimes gemstones or cotton beads, in strong impulsive colors.
I like the vibration of the contrast of opposite colors and I use different geometrical and irregular shapes, mostly huge and heavier pieces, but also broken pieces of horns, bones, leather remains, rope, oldie vintage buttons, seldom some resin beads in interesting shapes.
I often color beads in needed tone, and shape them in some special shape for specific creation.
My jewelry is pretty distinctive, usually massive, and reminiscent of of African, indigenous, and shamanic ritual jewelry.
