Yu Ling Chou, was born in Taiwan, having a great enthusiasm for drawing since childhood.
She attended the Fu Shin Trade Art School and majored in Fine Art. She majored in Commercial Design in college, learning photography, video editing, graphic design, illustration, oil painting and watercolor.
She continued her studies at the academy of art University with an emphasis in Men’s Knitwear Design. Also, she attended Spring/Fall 2019 Academy of art university New York fashion show. She loves about fashion is how it can define your personality. The colors you choose, the styles, the accessories, combing together, they give you an overall style that is unique to you.

Evolution

the inspiration comes from the photograph of a disintegrated garment destroyed during WWII, the images of the destroyed homeland gives me the ideas of disintegration, peeling, and falling away are incorporated in the garment shapes as well as textiles and knits. the collection incorporates the use of wool, cotton, linen and natural bristle yarns, as well as, a combination of layering details and textures. for this collection the main perspective was focus upon creating knitwear that mimicked traditional surface textile effects such as burnout and felting and other deconstruction feeling.
