Alma de agua

I have recently started Alma de Agua because it was my whole life dream, Im happier when Im on a bikini at the beach, who doesn´ t, so why not make it my everyday work? of course Im not running on a bikini all over Mexico city, but I decided that if I would have work related problems, tough decisions to make, everyday challenges to face i wanted to make them about my passion in life, fashion & bikinis! and of course a beach life.

I graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana after completing International Business degree here in Mexico City, I have always wanted to work on fashion, but I decided I wanted to know the financial and administrative side of the industry first. .... so I started my first internship at Saks Fifth Avenue Mexico as a buyer intern. then I got a job as a merchandiser in Calvin Klein which gave a loooot of experience, handling big inventories, big bulk orders, and big clients, I loved my time there, but then I decided to quit and pursue my dream.

I wanted to handle a product with a soul in it, thats how I created Alma de Agua, and that is why also it is made on my hometown Mexico, I committed my brand to the slow fashion movement.

Also Alma de Agua is environmentally friendly, as our printing process does not uses water or leaves chemical waste, but also we use Econyl fabric in most of our pieces, Econyl its a yarn made out of micro plastic waste and abandoned fishing nets found on the ocean, after this waste is processed and cleaned, we get recycled nylon, which we use on our swimwear pieces!
recycled nylon has the same quality as virgin nylon, and it allows us to make new products without extracting new resources.

we also use flower seed tags, which can be planted once removed.

Alma de Agua is a luxury affordable swimwear brand that targets women who already feel comfortably and godess-like in their own skin, our pieces are just a tiny embellishment to their own bodies.
I design for people my own age but also for people a little bit older, those who still like to be fashionable and feel proud of their beauty as they age.
