Allie Howard is a Sydney based designer, having graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles (Honours) in 2017. Since completing her studies, Allie has showcased her collection at Vancouver Fashion Week AW 18, and been accepted into iD Dunedin emerging designer awards. Allie's designs feature heavy textile manipulation, highlighting the process of laser cutting, combining technology and hand craftsmanship into innovative pieces. Her designs remain grounded in simplicity, and changeability, incorporating innovative closures. Allie's pieces are made with meticulous precision, focusing on bringing leather into a fashion focus, exploring laser cutting, bonding, layering, weaving and stacking.

Blurring the lines between the real and unreal. The collection explores the phenomenon of shadow and reflection; the illusion of angles and layers through textural leather pieces and transparent silks. Surface textures take on the illusion of prints, which contradict their three-dimensional nature. The theatrical element and interplay between angle and light challenges the perception of textures and shapes, exploring the ability to dress the body in hybrid forms which both conceal and reveal the body. The collection aims to challenge the way that people perceive the fashion garment, and how it exists in relationship to image, body and space.
