Born and raised in Cardiff I decided to return to education at the age of 30 and fulfil a life long dream of studying fashion design. The journey has ignited a passion within me to become a sustainable designer.

As a designer I feel it is my responsibility to come up with new innovative ideas to help deal with the current fast pace, throw away attitude that surrounds our industry. My final collection IKONA displays how using 'waste' textiles through reconstruction techniques such as hand weaving and knitting can create aesthetically beautiful textiles.

IKONA

The IKONA collection is a sustainable and ethical collection incorporating the post-consumer waste of bicycle inner tubes that have been repurposed to create new innovative textiles. The collection has also incorporated pre-consumer waste materials that have been surplus to requirements in the local area. These pre-consumer fabrics have been constructed using zero waste pattern development techniques to ensure waste is minimal.

ALETHEA - meaning 'truth' in Greek, represents authenticity and transparent craftsmanship.
