Aleksandra Kucharczyk, this year’s graduate from International School of Costume and Fashion Design in Warsaw, Poland. She is inspired with nature, women, people (mostly her friends and family), music and art. She creates clothes which are functional, but also have unique elements of appliqués, hand-made by the artist. She admires creating new forms from fabrics and she always tries to make them innovative and rare. She trends to vary her each collection, to make it different from the former ones, however they are still connected with her characteristic romantic and nostalgic style. She puts great emphasis on creating clothing in which a woman would look feminine, but without showy vulgarity. She creates prêt-a-porter fashion, however sometimes she also designs costumes. Her clothes were appreciated in finals of OFF Fashion competition in Kielce, semi-finals of Fashion Designer Awards III, IV edition, and OFF Fashion IX edition. She won III prize in “Wilanow for young talents competition” in ‘reconstruction’ category. Her diploma collection was awarded with distinction from Backstage-show.pl web portal and Wilanow Academy. Her fashion designs were published on many Polish websites: styl.pl, sophisti.pl, sophistifashion.pl, fashionnow.pl, backstage-show.pl, runwayward.com, moda.bobyy.pl, kimono.pl, warsaw bussiness journal wbj.pl, lamode.info, designscene.net, online magazines: NON MAGAZINE, PAPERCUT Magazine, ONEmagazine, MODO Magazine.
