Aleks Kurkowski

Born in Poland, she emigrated with her family to West Germany at the age of 8. First, it was her plan to study architecture or mathematics. Tempted by a documentary about design, she decided to go into fashion. She started gaining experience in small design studios and worked in the fashion industry for a few years after her graduation at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hanover. Her wish to start an own fashion label she put into action by end of 2012. In September 2013 the designer did the next step to professionalize her business by moving to Berlin. Her affinity for architecture and mathematics she now implements into her collections with straight-lined and geometric shapes. The label Aleks Kurkowski stands for progressive and trend independent high-class menswear and womenswear and is now located in düsseldorf.
