Luqman Ajani is the creative director and founder of AJANÉÉ, Born in lagos Nigeria with no official educational background in fashion design, he has always had a keen interest in anything craft related, recalling earliest memories of sitting by his mum and sister as they had their hair plaited and beaded cause of the crafty fascination and always finding himself sketching when he came across a pen and paper. This keen interest developed as he grew older, often pivoting towards clothes which led to a self-taught fashion journey. often using any materials he could get his hands on and old newspapers to make patterns that he could put together with his mum’s old sewing machine. This became a space where he found a sense of emotional intelligence as he started to realize how society can often react to things perceived as “different”, This led to AJANÉÉ which he started in 2020, he defines the brand as a space centered around individuality, taking garments through the lens of pushing them past ideals with the aim of expanding the basic mind.

Being a keen believer in clothing being more than just clothes, AJANÉÉ carries a conscious approach towards creating clothing trough what influences or dictates the design down to being intentional about the creation of garments, employing the use of upcycling, ethically sourcing and production locally.
