The Dalaga collection is inspired by the Third Culture phenomena and with it the search of individual culture by exploring the Filipino Culture and Chinese Culture to illustrate the amalgam of cultures created.

The Filipino Culture illustrates the versatility of human nature in how it adapts to the constant change in the cultural landscape. Dalaga, meaning young woman, is a collection that explores the growth of a girl into adulthood through the perception of a third culture child and the facing of adversity that goes with it.

Inspired by the romance in the novel Noli Me Tangere, the collection focuses on feminine silhouettes illustrating the love of one’s culture and identity. The techniques and details of the garments depict the concept of adopting a multitude of cultures to create an individual.

Everyone is a third culture person in some aspect. The world has grown small with people becoming even closer. People are able to move across different countries with different cultures. Everyone is able to understand and empathize with the third culture people’s need to adapt to constantly changing communities. The different cultures have intermingled to create a huge new but familiar culture for everyone in the world.
