6 Miles Horizon is a clothing brand with a philosophy which may be shortened to “local focus in a globalized world”. At a closer look, the world – steamrolled by globalization, mass production and industrial unification – is still full of diversity, tradition and people who derive satisfaction from the products of their manual labour. Our respect to traditional craft, sustainability and local focus was translated into the name of our brand. “6 Miles Horizon” is the range of awareness (in other words: the world) of people in traditional communities. The geographical horizon of non-nomadic European people up to as lately as the 19th century reached approximately 6 miles around their home villages. It seems narrow, but we at 6 Miles Horizon treat it as a metaphor of living locally, digging deep for the roots and getting to know our nearest environment with an open and inquisitive mind. By the way, the name when abbreviated to 6mh may be taken as an internationally comprehensible term of "6 meters per hour" which, according to our investigation, is more or less the average speed of a rather relaxed Burgundy snail (very popular species in Poland as well as in whole Europe).
