Collecting Dust highlights the confluence between WW2 and modern consumerism. The subject of these garments has evolved through embracing the functionality of uniform, in combination with my personal accumulative collections of mass produced toys preceding the end of strictly imposed rationing guidelines.
With the increasingly excessive nature of human consumption, it is not only crucial to make use of what already exists, but develop systems of continuation, bringing longevity and personal connections to the objects we hold. The garments provide the wearer with both adaptable and collectable styling options, opening the door for alternative sustainable processes and future collaborative developments.
It is through my personal appeal of the discarded, and the individual bonds that are formed through this process of reclaim that this collection has evolved.
