Spring/Summer 10/11, inspired by Arthur Golden's novel 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. Torn from her impoverished family and sent to work in a Geisha house, it reflects a young girls 'Sayuri's' cracked and structured life where by she grows and blossoms into a beautiful Geisha. I expressed her cracked world through fabric manipulation while also utilizing flow, drape and precise structure inspired by Japanese Kimono's to create this contemporary collection. This collection is designed for a woman who loves contemporary cut while also remaining feminine and chic.
