Holland Street’s ‘IKKO’ collection is inspired by Ikko Tanaka, the influential Japanese graphic designer. Paper cut out florals of roses, geraniums and peonies are composed on a large format canvas, uniquely positioned and engineered to the garment shape then coloured using digital technology. Reflecting Tanaka's use of crisp lines and solid shapes, print designer Lauren Barfoot wanted to create a contemporary and original interpretation of a floral print.
Issey Miyake has also released a collection influenced by Ikko Tanaka's work.
