programmed_society

With programmed_society, Esra Copur provides a commentary on the current zeitgeist. Feeling that many people have become stuck in an endless loop, she portrays them as individuals who have been programmed to constantly buy things- not because they need them, but because it has become a routine. She experiments with a repetition of recognisable garments such as the white T-shirt and the outdoor jacket.
By literally attaching people to clothing rails, she suggests that they are drowning in their own ingrained habits.
