This collection is inspired by the current political tension between white America and immigrants. The collection is an ironic clash between things that define the white man and Hispanic immigrant. Both my parents immigrated to the US from mexico and have worked extremely hard to create a better life for my family.
As I delved into research I wanted to touch on the zoot suit, back in the 1940’s these suits served as a type of uniform for Hispanics to rebel against the American norm. This collection is questioning what the zoot suit of today is.
