10 years of existence - that's how long the history of Synthetic100%natural brand spans. During this time, hundreds of original designs have been created, all of which were produced in a small, local tailoring workshop. The combination of exceptional, world-class design and local production is the essence of these ten years, during which we can observe continuous development - ever more sophisticated designs, advanced materials and attention to the finish of every detail. Recording of the virtual fashion show is a dream come true for us, to bring together the most important resonating fields in the history of the Synthetic brand - design, architecture and art. Thanks to the determination and favour of several people, the realisation of this unusual film project presenting the 𝗦𝗻𝗫₁₀₀ anniversary collection took place in April. The backdrop for the event was an important space for Silesian culture, and its premiere took place during an event that transformed our showroom in Gliwice into an exhibition space, presenting the ten-year history of the brand.
The show featured silhouettes constructed from unique, one of one pieces whose designs were inspired by milestones in our portfolio. In the ornate stylings, broken by the dominant orange colour, we can see elements of construction reminiscent of the history of the Synthetic label, and materials representing the richness of black structures explored daily by Katarzyna Łozicka-Matkowska. The designer and owner of the brand is also responsible for the handmade applications in various techniques. The motif appearing on the unique linocuts is the uroboros, symbolising history coming full circle, and more literally, creativity developing within itself, through constant improvement and self-inspiration.
The collection of single pieces was also accompanied by a special edition of the redesign project, in which the iconography appearing on the linocuts, were transferred to selected designs from the Synthetic archive. This project was created as part of an effort to reduce textile overproduction by using dead stock to create new, unique designs. At the same time, in line with the brand's mission, from the very beginning we have been only using certified materials, produced within the European Union, sourced from reliable suppliers. Our designs are produced in small runs, made from start to finish by hand, by people who are paid accordingly to their work and experience in their craft.
