inspired by the spirit of Pina Bausch.
‘Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost’.
This is the interpretation of my first ever choreography “unfettered”, a dance of catharsis amidst the shadows, as bodies intertwine and hearts beat in synchrony,
each step is a plea for freedom, the dancers are liberated, their souls unfettered in the final crescendo.
Echoing the foreground in a shot from Wim Wenders’ “Pina” (2011), where a woman dons a crimson gown carrying a sapling on her back, the textile samples that I developed pay homage.
