SS17 continues the exploration of challenging traditionally feminine assumptions. Inspired by the Japanese Sukeban girl gangs who were deconstructing their traditional school uniforms to rebel against the system of conformity. Additionally, these renegades also concealed weapons in their uniforms and despite their criminal activity; their unity and their courage to stand up to the establishment was an inspiration. To capture their spirit, untraditional uses of pleats, grommets, inlaid hardware combined with delicate and luxurious fabrications were employed.
