'Still Grew the Beat of Our Wings' was inspired by the Old Irish Tale of the Children of Lir. I was intrigued by the metamorphosis of the human form into that of a beautiful swan, using twisting and knotting as a way of embracing their physical change. I wanted to express the beauty of a swan but also the children’s entrapment within a foreign body. I did this by creating harness-like interiors within each garment, to trap the wearer within the softly interweaved fabrics.
